UPDATE - 05/21/12

I’m spending the next month in my lovely hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah “decompressing” (as my mother is calling it) from the stresses of everyday life in the big apple.  But, when I return I will be lucky enough to be part of a songwriting workshop in which I will get to work with and meet some amazing professional songwriters including the beautiful Angela Hunte.  I met her once before at a lecture series and I’m telling you, no one can tell it like it is like this woman.

I’m currently working on SEVEN new unreleased songs, many of which will be workshopped with these amazing songwriters.  As such, I’m planning the release of two more EPs for the summer, after which I will announce a small tour lineup!  Believe me, I’m excited.  The only for-sure locations are New York and Los Angeles, the rest are pending (let me know where you want me to be!)

Russell Carlton Huiskamp--a.k.a. Amusium--has spent the majority of his musical life wanting to be a composer. Studying classical piano as a child, his interest in creating music eventually grew to include everything from orchestral pieces, film scoring, producing, to musical theater, singing, and eventually, songwriting. Eclectic, energetic, and heartfelt, he strives to be both unique and approachable with his music, drawing on limitless inspiration from all types of music, visual art, fashion, technology and foreign culture.

Self-producing and self-releasing his debut collection of EPs, the New York-based singer/songwriter is currently offering his new songs for free download on his website, www.amusium.com. The first of which, UFO, was released in March 2012, with two more EPs planned for release later this year.
